This year, for the first time, the Network Computing Awards will recognise individual achievement. The Wick Hill Award for Contribution to ICT will be presented to the individual who receives the greatest number of votes. From our nominations process a short list of candidates has been produced. Roger Greene - Ipswitch
Roger Greene founded Ipswitch in 1991. Prior to Ipswitch, Greene was vice president of sales and marketing for FTP Software, a pioneer and leading supplier of TCP/IP software for personal computers. From its foundation, Greene had a strong desire to ensure Ipswitch has a lasting impact on IT, the world and the ways that businesses look at community involvement and set up the company’s innovative iCare initiative which has donated over $3m to children’s charities. Greene has an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in Computer Science from Duke University.
Michael Jerich - Level3
Michael Jerich is Vice President of Level 3’s Indirect Sales Channel. With more than 15 years of Indirect Sales experience, Mike strives to make it easier for partners to conduct business with Level 3 and to provide partners a set of tools and resources that will help them extend their business reach and build a profitable Level 3 solutions-based business.
Prior to rejoining Level 3, Jerich was Vice President of Global Crossing’s Indirect Sales Channel.
Jerich is a results-driven sales executive with a proven ability to market products, services, and establish strong client relationships in direct, wholesale, and indirect sales channels.
Mark McLaughlin - Palo Alto Networks
Mark D. McLaughlin has served as president and CEO of Palo Alto Networks since August of 2011. He is also a member of the Board of Directors at Palo Alto Networks.
Mark previously served as president and CEO and as a director of Verisign. He had also held a number of key positions at Verisign from 2000 to 2007, including serving as chief operating officer, executive vice president of products and marketing, and head of the company's Naming Services business. Prior to Verisign, he was the vice president of sales and business development for Signio, a leading Internet payment company, and was instrumental in the negotiation and acquisition of Signio by Verisign in 1999. Before joining Signio, he was the vice president of business development for Gemplus, the world's leading smart-card company. And previous to Gemplus, he also served as general counsel of Caere Corporation and practiced law as an attorney with Cooley Godward Kronish LLP.
Mark was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the National Security Telecommunications Advisory Committee (NSTAC) in Jan. 2011. He received his J.D., Magna cum Laude, from Seattle University School of Law and his B.S. Degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point. He served as an attack helicopter pilot in the U.S. Army and earned an Army Commendation Medal and Airborne Wings.
Andy Miller - Polycom
Andy Miller was appointed Polycom’s President and Chief Executive Officer in May, 2010 and became a Member of the Board shortly after. He joined the Company in July 2009 as Executive Vice President of Global Field Operations. In that position he was responsible for Polycom's go-to-market strategy, including the sales, channel, alliances, and sales engineering organizations.
A video and networking industry veteran, Andy has a brilliant 28-year track record of technology industry and sales achievement. Over the course of his career, Andy has led world-class sales organizations and driven growth for such companies as Cisco, where he held several leadership roles in sales and marketing from 1990 to 2001, and Tandberg, where he was CEO from 2001 to 2006. Immediately prior to joining Polycom, Andy was global president of IPC Information Systems, where he was responsible for sales, marketing, operations and engineering.
Andy holds a BS in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina. He is a former chairperson of the Young Presidents' Organization/Stanford Executive Education Program, a former fellow at the Aspen Institute and a member of the Silicon Valley Executive Summit. Andy was also awarded CRN Magazine's Top 100 Most Influential Executives for 2010.
Randall Overby - BNY Mellon Randall Overby is a Managing Director for BNY Mellon Financial Markets and Treasury Services leading the Business Process Management (BPM) discipline globally. His team’s mandate is to deliver value through the design and implementation of initiatives seeking to align everything the organisation does with the needs of clients.
Randall joined BNY Mellon four years ago, from Deutsche Bank where he used to lead the Global Strategic Projects group for the Investment Bank. During his 25 years in the Financial Services sector, Randall has led process-centric transformation efforts at project and programme management level; LOB and Country Head level; as well as at Strategy level, promoting end to end thinking and the drive to align structures and operational practices with clients’ needs.
Randall holds a BSc and an MBA from the University of Texas as well as qualifications from the Securities Institute and the Chartered Management Institute and is active in promoting the City of London and its activities.
Andrew Percival - Mayflex
Andrew joined Mayflex from school in 1984, and began his working career as the 16th employee in a role split between office admin duties and warehouse pick and pack tasks.
Over the years he took on a number of roles and progressed through the company and became Managing Director of the business in 2000. He has shaped the current strategy to offer customers a diverse, but complementary range, of Converged IP Solutions, from cabling infrastructure through to Networking and Electronic Security solutions.
Andrew is passionate about excellence in customer service, and strong, trust based relationships with colleagues, customers and vendors.
Enrique Salem - Symantec
Anil Singhai - NetScout Anil K. Singhal co-founded NetScout in 1984, and is serving today as Chairman, President, and CEO. Mr. Singhal has provided technical leadership for the company since its inception and is credited with numerous innovations in network traffic monitoring and analysis. Under his direction, NetScout has grown to be the market leader after acquiring its chief competitor Network General. In his current role, Mr. Singhal provides strategic leadership and vision, as well as sets priorities for the company's management team. Mr. Singhal holds a BSEE from BITS, Pilani, India and an MS in Computer Science from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
