| Apcon add new SCSI switch
to their network range APCON has announced the addition of the 4x2 SCSI SWITCH to its network hardware product line. The new LVD (low voltage differential) 4x2 SWITCH enables network administrators to share multiple servers with a single tape backup device for more efficient data storage. The SWITCH enables six independent SCSI buses to be selected and electronically connected in any combination via electronic switching circuits, allowing 28 SCSI peripherals to be accessed effortlessly. An optional LAN port is available for TCP/IP connectivity. The addition of the TCP/IP network connection allows users to share expensive peripherals such as RAIDs, DLT units and CD-ROM towers between computer systems, increasing the distance users can place these devices. |
